Degsie’s Dose IV : Baywatch or Crimewatch

Hi everyone, welcome to my 4th column for, hope you enjoyed the last one, thanks for the fabulous feedback I got from you all (such nice people in Leeds).

Anyhow, I’d like to start by congratulating some people on events and things that have happened since the last column went out.

Firstly, congratulations to The Viaduct Showgirls who performed at Gran Canaria Pride a couple of weeks ago, how amazing you girls are, well done to you all. Secondly, a big round of applause to everyone who entered the Leeds heat of Drag Idol UK at the Queen’s Court, I was privileged to be one of the judges and you were all stars in your own right. Well done to the winner Davina De Campo who was fantastic, could have sat and watched you all night. Our very own Brooke Spears who was runner-up, well-done girl, you were amazing.

I have to say, there are so many things going off in #gayleeds at the moment with the run-up to Leeds LGBT Pride in August, It’s definitely the place to be right now. The Viaduct Showbar with their second Pink Patio Party was a huge success as always, Blayds Bar with their Search For A Star heat was amazing, there are so many nights and events to go to I don’t know if my liver can cope with all the alcohol involved, but I’ll give it a good go!

Coming up on the 2nd June down at The Bridge Inn, I’ll be hosting their third Leeds LGBT Pride fundraiser, and this time we’re having a Baywatch Theme – Yorkshire style! So I want you all to get your swimwear on, you can be glamorous like in Baywatch, or pretend you’re on the beach in Bridlington with your sandals, white socks & handkerchiefs on your head! It’s up to you (no one will look as bad as me, watch this space)!

We have Live acts on stage throughout the afternoon, with loads of fun games, quizzes, bingo and raffles plus everyone will get Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas followed by Ice Cream, absolutely FREE! Plus I’ll be giving loads of FREE beer away too.

And as a special treat, I myself will be singing live for you all (get your earplugs will be provided)!

Then to top it all the fabulous Kira & Charlie will be there on the night with their fantastic Karaoke, and it’s also The Bridge’s heat for Search For A Star and your chance to win a slot on the main stage at this year’s Leeds LGBT Pride (so much in one day, I’m gonna need lots of Brandy to get me through this one).

All this kicks off from 2 pm through until the early hours.

We also have a brand new night starting up at The Bridge Inn on Tuesday 11th June called HAMMERED! Hosted by myself and our very own Zach, this is gonna be the best Rock Night Ever! So if you love Rock music then get yourselves down to see us and let’s get HAMMERED (Happy Hour All Night)!

Right then, now down to the important bit!

It’s my birthday guys & gals on 25th June which is a Tuesday Night. I know it’s a bad night to celebrate but I’ll be getting paralytic down at The Bridge Inn and if you want to join me then you’re all welcome. It was gonna be a small gathering but you only turn 25 once, so I thought we would make a night of it (that’s 25 years old, not 25 Stone, before you all say it)!

OK then I’m not 25, I’ll be 43 this year so not many birthdays left to go now, so make sure you all buy me something expensive (pressie wish list will be put on Facebook soon).

Gotta save some information for my next column, got so much going on if I carried on typing this would be longer than the bible!

So, don’t forget to come and see me Monday nights at The Viaduct Showbar for Kandyfloss with my gorgeous little DJ Timmy J Wright, this night just gets better and better week after week, and you guys that come down are fantastic, it’s so much fun, so if you haven’t been yet then pop down and see me!

Friday Nights also at The Viaduct Showbar, with The Viaduct Starlets and Showgirls Live on stage.

Saturday Nights at The Bridge Inn, with the best music and all the gang, and not forgetting my Sunday Roasts each and every Sunday Afternoon down at The Bridge.

And of course the Brand New Tuesday Rock Night – HAMMERED at The Bridge Inn with myself and the fabulous Zach.

I’m gonna leave you now with another one of my monthly facts about me that you may not already know, and that is:- When I was at High School, I came 2nd in a national sprinting competition for schools. Those were the days when I was young, agile, and slim. Nowadays it takes me all my time to lift my drink to my mouth, although I’m not doing a bad job of that! Lol.

Have fun everyone, stay safe and no doubt I’ll see you all out & about round Leeds very soon.

Love & Kisses
