Hi-NRG is a genre of uptempo disco or electronic dance music that originated in the United States during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was commonly heard in the LGBT venues of #gayyorkshire in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. You may remember some of these tunes from Rockshots 2 in #gayleeds and/or the New York Bar in #gaywakefield.
