York LGBT Pride invited as many people as possible to #HoldHandsWithPride in support of their theme for 2017.
People were asked to meet at Clifford’s Tower at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 30th May in order to join together for a giant photoshoot in front of one of York’s most famous landmarks.
The aim of this 2017 York LGBT Pride theme is to shed light on the difficulty LGBT individuals face when deciding whether they feel comfortable enough to hold their partner’s hand in public. The #HoldHandsWithPride follows on from the successful 2016 theme which urged people to #RaiseYourRainbow.
Clifford’s Tower is the largest remaining part of York Castle, once the centre of government for the north of England.
York LGBT Pride‘s main event will take place on Saturday 10th June at The Knavesmire in York.
